I may be a little biased with this one as I hire out audio guest books but please do stick with it.

A few years ago I was in the process of planning my own wedding with my amazing partner. We knew we didn't want to do things traditionally from the beginning, in fact it was my wife that proposed to me so already we were doing things differently. We planned a mid-week wedding because the venue we wanted was cheaper. We didn't exchange rings and just kept our engagement rings as wedding rings, we didn't have a first dance, didn't have a guestbook ,didn't have a seating plan, made our own wedding day playlist that we just played through a portable speaker, had a buffet and a pizza van instead of a sit down meal and didn't do a proper photoshoot with all our guests.

What we did do at the time was plan a day that was completely for us. We wanted to have a slight festival vibe to our wedding day so we booked 2 of our favourite local musicians to play during the day and in the evening. Booked the food we wanted, a bar that also did tea's and coffees and we didn't want to be bogged down with having to stand around and do photos for ages and make everyone to photos too. We did have a friend who was a photographer going around and taking photos and videos through the day but they were just casual photos. We had an amazing day that I wouldn't trade for the world and the pictures and videos we did get were great!

But... as time has passed since our wedding day, the memories of the day does fade more and more. I had also since discovered that an audio guestbook was something that people could have at their weddings. The more and more I looked into audio guestbooks and since eventually launching my own audio guestbook service I realised this was something that I really wish we had had at our wedding day. And not just because my wife and I are audio nerds anyway from both studying radio together.

An audio guestbook would have been the perfect addition to our wedding day because we could have captured the voices of all of the guests at our wedding. Hearing our guests talk about how beautiful my wife looked, how good the food was and how much they were enjoying the day would have been amazing to hear back. They could have left voice messages about what a great couple we are, funny or embarrassing stories from our lives or even a running commentary about how the day is going the more and more they drank. I think this, more than anything, would have been the perfect way to capture the whole feeling of our wedding day. Through the voices of the people that mean the most to us. I wish we had an audio guestbook that we could listen to all the messages whilst we look back at our photos to really put us back in the headspace of our wedding day. Especially if it is an audio guestbook like I offer that combines the messages with music from the wedding day for an even more perfect way to remember your wedding.

At the time I didn't know how much I would have wanted an audio guestbook but as someone looking back on one of the best days of my life, it is the one item I wish we did have.

In my opinion it is something a billion times better than a photobooth or a traditional guestbook as I know the messages from your loved ones will become more and more meaningful as the years pass and you start hearing voices from people that are no longer with you. It can also just be a really fun way to look back on a day you will want to remember forever.

An audio guest book is a must for any couple getting married who value their friends and family.
